Crazy!
This is an archive page for entries in a series running on The Cheek titled “Just A Little Crazy.” This has been a fun set of posts from some dear friends, and many other friends have asked if they could contribute. So there’s a good chance this might become an ongoing series, with further posts added on a weekly basis. Check back for details . . .
For now, here are the entries that have appeared thus far. Enjoy!
This is the introductory post to the series, in which I set the stage and ponder a few of the crazy things I’ve done.
For we all do it occasionally. Step out of the routine and make plans to do something so beyond our own comprehension. More importantly, beyond plans, we sometimes carry through. We get “Just a little crazy.” And it feels good.
Crazy Is As Crazy Does. In this post, published on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, Pamela of The Dayton Time does it in her backyard . . .
The funny thing about this (is there just one?) is that before, during, and after, I never once considered that we might be doing something reckless, the thought we were doing something crazy never crossed my mind.
So What IS Crazy Anyway? Originally published on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, Sally of TigerEye’s Sallies addresses the pressing question with poignancy and grace . . .
So, for this post, I wanted something different, and big – something truly crazy. I have no tattoos or unconventional piercings, so that won‘t work. But I do have a series of recently taken photographs, which do somehow illustrate my brand of crazy and spontaneous. Let me explain . . .
The Doctor Will Be With You . . . Shortly. Featured on Thursday, September 17, 2009. Travis, a writer at his own site, The Holmes, and at the irreverently funny DadCentric, gets crazy in a lab coat.
Their mistake may have been in giving me my own white lab coat to wear. I know their intention was just to help me feel like one of the crew, but I think it may have contributed to me forgetting where I belonged in the order of things.
Wherein I sing with a sock puppet and in front of Ed McMahon. Published Friday, September 18, 2009. Christine, aka the amazingly talented Flutter, Dark & Divine, tells a tale of dreadlocks and nose picking.
I sat, watching a group of 6 girls, 3 guys, 2 dogs and a small Volvo do a rousing juggling routine, during which one of the dogs decided to crap onstage.
Dude, That’s F***ed Up! Saturday, September 19, 2009. Salty dialogue, shenanigans, and sobriety. Ed of Zoë’s Dad brings the real to the series with humor and grace.
So here’s the thing: I guess I have done some pretty crazy shit in my day. Or stupid. Either way, I just don’t see it that way. I’m just living. I’ve always been the dude that was ready to go . . .
Stay tuned for more craziness . . .
